Hello fellow voyagers
While browsing through certain retail book store on Park street found this book with not so pretty cover called JAYWALKERS GUIDE TO KOLKATA by Soumitra Das..
At first I put it down and moved on to more trashy novel just to get over the weekend with nothing in particular.
That title however stayed with me...
A week later I googled it as all lazy ppl do to see if anyone had read this obviously over-priced book.
Google hippcup took me to see some review where ppl who are planning trips to Kolkata where posting questions about where to find this book.
Now knowing the book addict I am...I purchased the book next day.
I was staring to feel a little post shopping guilt for a book that had picture of an old bengali babu stairing at a peacock..
I started reading this meticulous book...much to my surprise I was hooked.
Anyway I decided this would be my mission for a year.
ALthough right now I cant take time off to travel..I have decided to do it in installments..
For the next year of my life this is my mission: COMPLETE ONSITE REVIEW OF JAYWALKERS GUIDE TO KOLKATA---nickname-KOLKATA_JAYWALKER_PROJECT.
I hope to do justice to the writers hard work….by re-creating his journeys into the soul of KOLKATA with what time I have…between meetings and presentations….Marriage and menace of 10 hour job…
Still This journey is for SOUMITRA as it is for me…
So wish me BON_VOYAGE in this journey…
